Bergamo is a city located in the Lombardy region of northern Italy. It is situated about 40 kilometers northeast of Milan, and is divided into two parts: the upper city (Città Alta) and the lower city (Città Bassa). The two parts of the city are connected by a series of stairways and narrow streets, as well as a funicular railway that offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
